FAT STONER BABES HIKING CLUB THIRD ANNUAL CAMPING TRIP
Alright, Babe!!! It’s time!!! The long awaited information & RSVP link to attend our Third Annual Fat Stoner Babes Hiking Club CampOut!!! Wahoooooo!!!
Below you will find some important information & expectations for this event. There’s a lot to read here so take your time to soak it all in & plan accordingly. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. There will be more information for campers to come in the next few days.

✦ R S V P ✦
First & foremost, I’m going to limit the total event headcount to 30. This is mostly so that I can stay within budget & keep things rolling smooth & safe. I will leave the RSVP open until all spots are spoken for, or Friday April 24th, 2026 @ 7pm, whichever comes first.
The last couple years we’ve had a few of you lovely Babes book a personal spot in the main campground area & other nearby camping spots. You are certainly welcome to do that again & come on up to hang with us. If you book your own spot —> please do NOT fill out the RSVP. You can totally still come up & hang + hike with us, but unfortunately I will need you to be responsible for your own food/drink.
HAWN STATE PARK CAMPGROUND MAP:

LOCATED AT :
HAWN STATE PARK
12096 Park Drive
New Offenburg, MO 63670
37.834250, -90.227383
We will be in the Special Use Area. There is a shower house with bathrooms as well as a stand alone vault toilet within walking distance of our campsite. Our site has potable water available. Gates to Hawn State Park close at 10pm.
Check-in:
Thursday, May 7th at 4:20pm.
Show up, pick a spot (it’s a huge space), set up & chillllllll for the night. -- I know some of you mentioned that you won't be able to show up until later in the evening Friday, or even on Saturday. That is totally fine. All I ask is that, if your plans change & you can't make it, let me know ASAP!
Check-OUT:
Sunday, May 10th at 1:00pm.
I’ll need everyone out of the campsite by 1:00pm so that I’ve got time for a final cleaning & any damage assessment (please no) & so that I can get us all checked out with the park. If for some reason you decide to leave sooner than that, please let me know so that I can get you checked off our RSVP List.
TRANSPORTATION
& PARKING:
• I’m going to recommend everyone try to carpool in one way or another with at least one person unless hauling group gear or otherwise absolutely opposed to the bone.
• We can have up to 8 cars on our site. The on-site parking will be reserved for our “shuttle” vehicles & those with mobility limitations.
• Ranger said it would also be ok if we took 8 spaces in the Day Use lot near the Pickle Creek Trailhead too. Try to keep our vehicles together-ish in that lot. I’m working out a way for us to keep that situation organized.
• If we happen to have vehicle overflow we can take 2 spots in the BackCountry lot that is located right at the base of our camp site, if they’re available.
• We can also have 2 spots in front of the Shower House if they’re available, although he thought this wasn’t the greatest spot due to all the foot traffic right there.
• So that gives us a super max total of 20 parking spots within the park.
• Ranger did not have suggestions for a public parking spot outside of the park.
YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL CLUB RULES:
Don’t be a Dick, don’t be a Karen, don’t be a mf Creep. No alcohol before or while hiking. — In addition to these rules there are a few more NOPES for this event; NO MINORS, NO DOGS, & LITTLE TO NO ALCOHOL IS PREFERRED. This is all so that everyone can feel & be safe & nobody has to do any babysitting of any type. (Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded the dogs but the park has a 2 dog limit to the site & we’re just not even gonna fuck with that.)
FOOD STORAGE & TRASH:
• With consideration to what the Ranger said about raccoons & bears, as well as the amount of cars we can have, I am much more comfortable with people bringing some food.
• You will be responsible for your own Breakfast Friday, Saturday & Sunday morning.
• We will Potluck Lunch & Dinners on Friday & Saturday.
• At the end of the night we need to make sure all food & drugs are secured & all trash is ran.
• Hawn does NOT provide any sort of food storage. They do not have the huge steel bear boxes that many parks have.
• Bears are not much of a serious concern at the campgrounds but it is necessary that all food be stored & put away INSIDE of our vehicles.
• If there are food items that must be outside of the vehicles it needs to be in a locked cooler, or somehow super secured so that the trash pandas can’t get at it. Ranger emphasized they’d really like the food put away inside our vehicles when not eating.
• Raccoons are not too much of a problem in the Special Use Area that we will be occupying. If they hit, it’s usually the main camp area & big garbage bins. Still need to take necessary food precautions though.
• The big park trash bins are located on the first loop in the park. They do not lock them up at night or have a cut off time for a last evening trash run but quiet hours begin at 10pm.
✦ BE BEAR AWARE!!!
MEAL PLANs:
There are three large fire pits on site, if I'm remembering correctly. We won't use them all for cooking so please pay careful attention to which fires we are cooking on.
Feel free to bring your own camp stove if you like.
We'll set up a dope lil camp kitchen area & a washing station.
Last two years we potlucked our meals & it seemed to work pretty well, so let’s do it again!
You’ll be responsible for your own breakfasts though!
There will be sign up sheets for everythang, Babe! You will gain access to those once your RSVP is confirmed. Keep a lookout for your emails from me! (Maybe take a quick moment to add fatstonerbabeshikingclub@gmail.com to your address book to ensure you get our emails!)
IMPORTANT FIREWOOD ADVISORY:
✦ Please take a moment to check out Hawn’s Firewood Advisory!
Weather advisory:
The weather this year, y’all. It’s been a damn doozy, right?! It might be hot af. It might rain. Perhaps both at the same time. Maybe the stars will align & we’ll have phenomenal weather. Rain or shine! Be prepared for this & that. — Our first year camping together we had phenomenal weather during this same time (Mother’s Day week); we even saw the aurora borealis! Last year we camped in the middle of July & it rained a lot of the time. We still had a mf blassst!!!
