Flint Quarry Trail is located within West Tyson Park at the end of the driveway of the LOWER ENTRANCE after staying to the RIGHT at the driveway split. The trail head is just past the bathrooms, so drive a little further back behind them & park in the tiny lot. If there’s no space in the trailhead lot, park at one of the other nearby lots/spots & walk on over!
We’ll meet by the Flint Quarry trailhead!

This is a popular trail on a beautiful Sunday. It is multi-use; bikers, hikers & horses! Be sure to watch your step on this one! A strenuous 4 mile loop that winds through a stunning forest rich with whitetail deer, fox & raccoons. Loose rocks (& quartz everywhere), roots & elevation with steep drop-offs & tight switchbacks will make for a really fun workout! There are several stretches of hilly, rocky terrain & grades up to 15%, it’s an ass-kicker, Babe. Might be slippery when it’s a little wet/rainy, especially with leaf coverage.
Due to the strenuous nature of some sections, consider bringing trekking poles & having prior hiking experience over rough terrain. Make sure your footwear is sturdy; waterproof may be a good idea for some crossings.
We’re gonna be burning some calories so bring a small snack & plenty of drinking water. We’ll take it slow & enjoy our time together, moving our bodies for about 3.5ish hours. Expect to sweat y'all! Let’s go get some!
Hurray for restrooms nearby this time! Be advised ladies, our side is hella cramped; knees against the door & I’m only 3 apples tall. lol

REMINDER : ALL HIKES ARE WEATHER PERMITTING. {THIS INCLUDES HEAT, RAIN, CRAZY WIND, COLD & SNOW.} As of Monday morning, it's looking like Sunday, Sunday, Sundayyy is gonna be a beautifully gloomy 71 degrees!!! It is forecast to rain Saturday night, so come prepared to deal with a lil mud, just in case. Mind that footwear!!!
DOGGOS : Your friendly dogs are certainly welcome on this adventure! They must be current on all vaccinations. Please follow trail + park rules regarding your pets | leashing | waste.

FSBHC FALL CAMP TRIP
☟AT SHAWNEE NATIONAL FOREST☟
A handful of us Babes will be going camping Thu.Nov.5 - Sun.Nov.8 in Shawnee National Forest. We will be hiking Garden of the Gods & Rim Rock Trails, weather permitting.
If you'd like to join us, please reach out to me personally. Since we will not be staying in a private / special use area, I will only be sharing the details of our camp location to those who specifically contact me about the camping trip.
Unlike our annual spring camping trip, this one is going to be much less planned & organized. Basically, I'M going camping & if you wanna Pull-Up Willy Nilly & BringYourOwn, you're certainly welcome.

Campsites are primitive!!!
$10 per night & first come first serve / non-reservable.
Self Service Pay Station; Bring exact CASH!
Vault Toilets, No Showers!
Water Spigots available if the weather is still warm, but be prepared in case it's off for the season; Bring extra water!
Fire pits equipped with grills.
Be prepared for FREEZING temperatures & possible rain!!!
